Melva Grandon

Melva Glyn Grandon, age 88, of Benton, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018. She was born April 23, 1929 in Little Rock, Ark. Melva was retired and a member of Crystal Hill Baptist Church in Little Rock. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Sadie Lea Hughes; husband, Raymond N. Grandon; and two sons, Roy Allen Harris and Ronald Glen Harris. She is survived by three sons, Daniel Lee Harris (Janice) of Little Rock, Ray Grandon, Jr. (Tracey) of Virginia and Dan Grandon (Dawn) of Searcy; two daughters, Marilyn Hoyt (Larry) of Sheridan and Shirley Collins of Benton; daughter-in-law, Madeline Harris of Magnolia; two brothers, Jimmy Hughes (Ruthie) of Little Rock and Billy Hughes (Glenda) of Jacksonville; five sisters, Jewel Williams of Conway, Dorothy Rader of Fort Smith, Cleo Frances Rukes of California, Clara Torquato of North Little Rock and Edna Shearer (Jack) of Mabelvale; her special family friend, Brenda Sheridan; 29 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 2 at Ashby Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 3 at Ashby Funeral Home with burial at Pine Crest Memorial Park.
