Sandra "Sandy" Wyatt Magness, 76, born in Memphis, TN to C L and Frances Wyatt on March 18, 1942 passed away on Monday, April 30, 2018. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Lt Col Byron L Magness Sr., US Marine corps (retired), and beloved brother Gerald A. Wyatt Sr. She was a graduate of East High School in Memphis where she was a member of the marching band. She attended Memphis State University, now University of Memphis, where she was a member of Delta Zeta sorority. Sandy graduated University of Tennessee Health Science with a degree in Cytotechnology. After graduation, Sandy became a Little Rock resident when she was offered a job at the pathology lab of Doctors Dilday and Pehrson. She worked there as chief cytotech for 15 years. During this time she was also working on her degree at UALR and was proud to receive her BA degree in 1977. After leaving the pathology lab she then pursued new horizons with her husband, Byron, in the Real Estate and Property Management field. She evidently found her passion as she became a Real Estate Broker for Magness, Inc., received Life Spike for the Greater Little Rock Home Builders Assoc., and was a member of Sales and Marketing. She was a founding member and president of the Little Rock chapter of NARPM, National Assoc. of Residential Property Mangers, and a founding member of the North Little Rock Landlord Assoc. Sandy owned and operated Magness Property Management since 1980. Sandy was not all work, as she also gave back to the community. As member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral she joyfully served on the All Saints Guild. She was on the board of Presbyterian Village Board, where she enjoyed co-chairing the annual fund raiser for Presbyterian Village for several years. Sandy was also appointed by the mayor to serve on the Little Rock Community Advisory Board. She will be missed by her sister-in-love Suzanne Wyatt, nephew Jerry Wyatt Jr., and niece, Melanee Wyatt Posey, as well as, two great-nephews and one great-niece all in Forth Worth, Texas, and step-son, Byron Lynn Magness Jr., wife Linda, and their daughter, Amber and her son, Byron L Magness III, of Boca Raton, La. Her family and many friends will remember her as fun loving and sometimes a jokester, loving gag gifts. Sandy had a lifelong love of butterflies and was interested in all kinds of art and architecture. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trinity Episcopal Cathedral or Catholic High School for Boys in Little Rock. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral (310 W 17th St, Little Rock, Ark. 72206) on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 11am. A catered reception will follow the service in Morrison Hall. Service arrangements are entrusted to Ruebel Funeral Home. www.ruebelfuneralhome.com.
