Elmore Temple Jr., 79, of Jacksonville passed away on May 5, 2018. He was born December 19, 1938 in Rosedale, Mississippi to the late Elmore Sr. and Ina May Johnson Temple. He proudly served 20 years in the United States Air Force retiring as a SSGT. Elmore was a member of Second Baptist Church in Jacksonville and served as a deacon until he was no longer able. He is preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Linda Maxine Lee Rye Temple; twin sons, Don and Ron Temple; and a brother, Pete Temple. My dad was gentle, kind and faithful. He loved the Lord and demonstrated that throughout his life by the way he always served others. He was humble and oh so very greatful for his salvation through Christ, his beloved wife Linda, his children, home and absolutely everything else. He taught his children how to pray. As young children he would line us up along the couch and pray each evening. Dad loved to hunt and fish, and he loved to talk about anything but especially hunting and fishing. He loved the outdoors and camping. Some of the best times of his life were spent camping with his brother, Bill and his family. Dad was anxious to go home during his last five to six months, His heavenly home. He suffered greatly but rarely complained. I know without a doubt he is rejoicing with Jesus and our family that had already preceded him. I would love to have seen his face when he saw his beloved sons, Don and Ron. What Joy!, I love you daddy, I'll love you forever. Mr. Temple is survived by his daughters, Nancy Hurley and husband, Jim of Jacksonville and Martha Finney and husband, Greg of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; and daughter inlaw, Dana Temple McGee of Dardanelle, Arkansas; grandchildren, Trey, Whitney (Sean) Peeples, Madison, Maitland, Sierra Grace Hurley all of Jacksonville.
