Helen Maxine (Orcutt) Beane, 89, of Corpus Christi, formerly of North Little Rock, passed away March 20, 2018. Helen's life was celebrated on Tuesday, April 3, at 10:00 a.m. at Travis Baptist Church, 5802 Weber Road, Corpus Christi, Texas, her home church for the past 14 years. Helen is predeceased by her husband, Clois, her parents, George and Della Orcutt, her siblings, and her daughter-in-law, Jane Beane. She is survived by her children, Thomas Beane of Little Rock and Tonya Beane Webber of Corpus Christi, grandchildren, Kimberly Beane of Madrid, Spain and Rawley (Claire Peyton) Webber of Baton Rouge, many cherished nieces, nephews and cousins around the country. Helen was a dedicated administrative assistant for various insurance and medical supply executives in Little Rock before she retired in the mid-1970's. She and Clois were devoted members of Temple Baptist Church for over 40 years, until they chose to make Corpus Christi their home in 2003. Helen enjoyed her church family, especially her Sunday School class at Travis Baptist, and was many times the life of the party at women's and seniors' events. Always quick to crack a joke, Helen will be long remembered for her outgoing and affable personality. It was a heartfelt desire of hers to make everyone feel welcomed and loved. She daily invested hours on the phone speaking to homebound and sick church members and visitors, and personally kept track of all her cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who enjoyed and miss their frequent talks with her. It was her sincere interest in what was going on in their lives that endeared her, as she was not one to complain about her own ills, even as she lost her eyesight, hearing, voice and mobility. Unconditional love and selflessness are her legacy. Her wisdom, warmth and easy laughter will be greatly missed. To honor Helen, the family suggests donating to Travis Baptist Church, the Corpus Christi Senior Companion program, or any American veterans organization.
