Alberta M. Dawes

ALBERTA M. DAWES, 89, of North Little Rock, passed away Nov. 2, 2018. She was born March 12, 1929 in Gurdon, Ark., to the late William and Elizabeth Mitchell Merkel. Alberta "Pete" was a member of North Pulaski Methodist Church and a member of the Order of Eastern Star Sylvan Hills Chapter #602. In 2000, she retired as Cafeteria Manager of Sylvan Hills High School after 48 years of outstanding service to PCSSD. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Henry Dawes, Sr.; Charles (Chuck) Henry Dawes, Jr.; brother, Frank Merkel; sisters, Gene Marshal, Alice Hicks, Billie Thomas and her husband, Jeep; and her grandson, Neil Reed. Alberta is survived by two daughters, Patricia Reed and Linda Diane Gaddy; grandchildren, Katherine Knox (Jim), Travis Murphy (Tammy), Michelle Williams (Zach), Nicki Dawes Panther (Travis), Chelsea Dawes; and seven great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Fox Ridge, North Little Rock; Baptist Hospice, and Hospice Home Care for their excellent care of Pete. The family would also like to thank "Miss Pete's" very special care giver, Sandra Williams. Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 5, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at the Moore's Funeral Home, 1504 N. J.P. Wright Loop Road, Jacksonville, Ark. A grave site service will be held under the pavilion at Rest Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, Ark., and Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to Hospice Home Care, 2200 Bowman Road, Little Rock, Ark. 72211.
