TERRY ALLEN HITCHCOCK, 80, of Maumelle, Ark., died on Nov. 2, 2018 from complications of heart disease. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith and a crown of righteousness is laid up for me." Terry was born to Pete and Maxine Hitchcock in Woodward, Oklahoma on February 23, 1938. He graduated from Enid High School in 1956 and from Oklahoma State University in 1961. After completing ROTC at OSU he was commissioned into the U.S. Army as 2nd Lieutenant and was stationed in Crailsheim, Germany, with the 37th MTB in the 4th Armored Division. Upon returning to the states, he was stationed at Ft. Knox, Ky., where he was the Company Commander of the 2nd Training Brigade of the 4th Armored Division. In 1960, he married the love of his life, Betty Stratton, also from Enid, Okla. They were married 58 years. They have 2 children, Terry Dale Hitchcock (Mindy) of Chowchilla, Calif., and Karen Warren (Dave) of Austin, Texas. He has 6 grandchildren: Jonathan Amis (Amanda), Brittany Enos (Garrett), Courtney Rosbach (Matt), Brandon Hitchcock, (Alexa), Kalyn Pate, Kody Pate, 4 great grandchildren, brother-in-law Jerry Stratton (Patsy) and a number of nieces and nephews. Terry served many years as a deacon at Geyer Springs Church of Christ. For the past 26 years he has been an active member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ and very much loved his church family. He retired in September, 2005, after 39 years in the insurance claims business with CIGNA and Crockett Adjustment. His passions were bass fishing, deer hunting, playing guitar and saxophone and telling lengthy stories. He loved his little shih tzu, Cassie, who died the same day. A legacy of living by faith, a devotion to his wife and family and a spirit of gratitude for all the Lord has given him will be remembered by all. He will be missed. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 6th 6-8 pm at the Roller-Chenal Funeral Home and funeral service on Wednesday, November 7th 10 am at Pleasant Valley Church of Christ.
