Floy Mae Smith

Floy Mae Smith, 88, of Star City passed away Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Gardner Nursing Center. She was born April 4, 1930 in Carthage to the late Tom and Nannie Mae Wilson Clark. She was a member of Lone Grove Missionary Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She was featured on Good Morning Arkansas for her skills as a seamstress and won many awards in Lincoln County, the Arkansas State Fair and the Mid-South Fair in Memphis. She sewed only for her grandchildren and also enjoyed tending to her yard. She loved the Razorbacks and enjoyed watching the NBA. Also preceding her in death was her daughter, Sharon Morgan and a brother, Willard Clark. She was the precious mother of a son, Michael Smith of Little Rock and a daughter, Dianne Haire of Glendale; and the Angelic grandmother of seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Griffin Funeral Chapel with Bro. Tom Lamb officiating. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial at Rowell Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Arkansas Hospice, 1301 Ridgeway Rd., Ste. 20, Pine Bluff, Ark. 71603. Pallbearers are Matthew Smith, Jeremy Haire, Cameron Morgan, Michael Smith, Jerry Haire and David Morgan. Arrangements by Griffin Funeral Service in Star City.
