Jonas Smith

Jonas Smith, 77, of Carlisle, passed away November 2, he was born April 6, 1941 to the late Isice and Covella Smith (Mandy). Jonas was known for his love of fishing and his infectious smile and laugh. He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Roger Dale Smith, two brothers, Leon Smith and Virney Smith, three sisters, Vicky Thomas, Anner Pearson and Bobbie Jean Byrd. Jonas is survived by two daughters, Penney Smith of Atlanta, Ga. and Sylvia (Lowrenza) Wilson of Little Rock, one brother, Ray Smith, two sisters, Earnestine Cobb and Dorothy Warford, five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday November 10, at The Historic Revelation COGIC Carlisle, visitation Friday November 9, 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the church.
