Virginia Maxine Rowe

Virginia Maxine Rowe (Jenny), 83, of Tumbling Shoals, Ark., passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Nov. 9th, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, David Isaac Franks and Lily Mae Franks; along with her sisters, Mickey Milburn and Wilmalene Kirkendall, and her brothers, Mitchell Franks, Paul Franks, O'Neil Franks and Homer Franks. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, James Edward Rowe; her daughter, Tammy Rowe McClurkan and son-in-law, Michael Bruce McClurkan of Jonesboro, Ark.; her siblings, Betty Watson of Jonesboro, Ark., Larry Donald Franks of Tumbling Shoals, Ark., and Wilburn Franks of Flint, Mich.; her grandchildren, Connor Rowe McClurkan and wife, Kathryn, of Jonesboro, Ark., and Clancy Rowe McClurkan of Fayetteville, Ark., and a host of other family and friends. Jenny was a graduate of Arkansas State University where she received a Bachelor of Science in English and secondary education. She taught school in Little Rock School District for five years before moving to McCrory, Ark., to run the McCrory Clinic with Jim for 35 years. JuJu, as she was known to everybody, enjoyed planting flowers, feeding her many raccoons and cats, spending time with family and friends, and cooking for anyone that walked in her door. She was a happy and positive person that always saw the best in people. She took time to get to know each person she met especially if they stayed with her at the lake. She loved music and enjoyed writing poetry. If you were lucky, she might even scribble something down on a napkin just for you! She definitely made the world a better place and will be sorely missed. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 13th at Olmstead Funeral Home in Heber Springs, Ark., at 1 p.m., with funeral services at 2 p.m. Graveside services will follow at Cleburne County Memorial Garden. www.olmstead.cc.
