Roosevelt Hood

ROOSEVELT HOOD, 85, a former resident of Saginaw, Mich., and Traskwood, Ark., passed away November 12, 2018. Born to Fitzsimmons and Blanche (Ford) Hood of Hickory Plains, Ark., on October 13, 1933, as one of thirteen children. Roosevelt was beloved by many for his calming spirit, unconditional generosity, love of family, and dedication to work as a General Motors employee of 32 years. While in Michigan, he became a Mason. He enjoyed working with his hands as exhibited by his passion for carpentry, farming, and tinkering on cars. Roosevelt spent much of his time visiting the elderly and gifting his talents and resources to those in need. He was an active member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Benton, Ark., until his health failed. Mr. Hood leaves to cherish his loving memories, wife Clemetta Hood, four daughters, two sons, six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, nine siblings, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He is preceded in death by both parents, three siblings, and a son. Funeral service will be held Monday, November 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel AME Church, 600 N. Cedar St, North Little Rock, Ark., 72114. Interment will be at Griffin Leggett-Rest Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, Ark.,72117. Family hour will be held Sunday, November 18, 2018 from 4pm – 5 p.m. at Ruffin & Jarrett Funeral Home, 1200 S. Chester St., Little Rock, Ark., 72202. (501)372-1305.
