Sarah Louise Rankin

Sarah Louise Rankin passed away November 16, 2018, in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born August 1, 1923, Harrison, Arkansas, the daughter of Claude Crump and Louise Garvin Alexander. She attended school in St. Louis, Missouri and Harrison, Arkansas, graduating from Harrison High School in 1941. After graduation, she attended The University of Arkansas She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She was a 50-year member of Chapter H, PEO, in Harrison. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Harrison. Preceding Sarah in death are her parents; her husband, Dr. R.W. "Doc" Rankin, DDS; and her daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn Jordan Stevens and Bill Stevens. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Cathy and Alex Jordan of Little Rock; six grandchildren, Tara Jordan Garner (Jon) of Little Rock, Ark., Case Jordan (Corina) of North Little Rock, Ark., Evie Jordan Inboden (Corey) of Fayetteville, Ark., Byron Stevens (Kate) of Kalona, Iowa, Sarah Anne Parlier (Jeff) of Brevard, N.C., Rebecca Stevens of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho, two step-grandchildren, Meghan Miros and Emily Miros Hoopes (Ryan) of Dallas, Texas. Also four great-grandchildren, Mason and Mya Parlier of Brevard, N.C., Tully Holt Jordan III of North Little Rock, Ark., Gabriel Alexander Garner of Little Rock, Ark.; and a dear friend to all, Tina Hovis, her angel. During her four years in Little Rock, Sarah had five grandchildren marry, and two great-grandchildren born. This along with many special birthdays and holiday celebrations blessed her family. We thank the wonderful staff and administration at Fox Ridge Chenal for their loving care the four years she lived in Little Rock, we appreciate the caregivers of Homeality, and we are forever grateful to Hospice Home Care for allowing her dignity and grace. Open visitation at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home in Harrison, Arkansas will be Saturday, November 24th, 9-11 a.m. Private graveside service will be at Maplewood Cemetery, Harrison, Arkansas, entrusted to Roller-Christeson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests Memorials to be made to First United Methodist Church of Harrison, Ark., Hospice of the Hills of Harrison, Ark., or a Charity of your choosing.
