Gary Wayne Aaron, 77, a resident of Bella Vista, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2018. He was born on January 8, 1941 to Buel and Lorene (Myers) Aaron in Nauvoo, Alabama. Gary was a retired Captain of the United States Navy. He started as an E 1 Seaman Recruit and worked his way with grit and determination to Captain. His career included 6 major tours, Med Cruise, North Atlantic, West Pacific, Saudi Arabia, and Desert Storm. Parallel with his 33 years with the Navy, Captain Aaron also flew for TWA, inside the USA, and abroad. Gary was also a past President of the Northwest Arkansas Veterans Council and presided over the Wall of Honor in Bella Vista, Arkansas. He was also a member of the Bella Vista Honor Guard, American Legion Post 341, Quiet Birds, Military Officers Association of America, Navy League, Mason, Flying Fez Unit that flew burn victims to Shriner's Hospitals, and was a NRA Life Member. Of all of his accomplishments his most important was being a member of Bella Vista Lutheran Church. Captain (Ret.) Gary Wayne Aaron's military decorations include the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Naval Reserve Medal, six Air Medals, two Navy Commendation Medals with a Gold Star, Combat V, Navy Unit Commendation with a Bronze Star, and the Overseas Ribbon. Left to cherish Gary's memory are his wife, Mildred Fullington (Bradford) Aaron; a son, Gary W. Aaron, Jr. of Kansas City, Missouri; a daughter, Heather Starre Aaron of Seattle, Washington; a sister, Carolyn Dow Aaron of Austin, Texas; nephews, Dwayne and Michael Dow of Austin, Texas; step daughter, Lisa Everhart of Rogers, Arkansas; and a step son, John Fullington of Benton, Arkansas.
