Joy Elaine Alonzo Sams, 42, of Cave City, Arkansas was carried to her heavenly resting place Saturday, November 24th, 2018. She was born May 22, 1976, in West Covina, California. She was a beloved daughter, sister, and friend, as well as a loving wife and mother who's smile, was the light of any room she entered. She was a former manager of Pizza Inn located at Cave City. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Gerald and Velma Emmons, Heddie Caudillo, and Verna Faye Johnson as well as by her Aunt Ester Emmons and Uncles Miguel Alonzo, Rudy Alonzo, and Frank Emmons, and by her step-sister, Brenda Lynn Strebeck. She is survived by her Loving husband, Dillin Sams whom she called her Knight in Shining Armor, her beautiful children, Noah Brooks and Sylvie Watson of Cave City; mother, Elizabeth Emmons Alonzo of Evening Shade; her father and stepmother, Ernie and Kay Alonzo of North Little Rock; her grandparents Manuel and Vincenta Alonzo of Laredo, Texas and Billy Wayne Johnson of North Little Rock; brothers, Michael Alonzo (Jennifer) of Jacksonville and Richard Alonzo (Mandy) of North Little Rock and step-brother, Braska Strebeck; sisters, Stephanie Parsons (Shane) and Shelby Alonzo all of Myrtle Beach and Brandi Parker whom has always been like another sister. She is also survived by 10 aunts, five uncles, six nieces, seven nephews, and a host of friends and relatives. The family would like to thank Dr Khan and his staff for going above and beyond in their medical care for Joy, as well as the doctors and staff of MD Anderson Hospital and Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Thank you also to her extended Pizza Inn Family for being so giving and supportive to Joy and her family. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 28th, 2018 at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel at 6 p.m. followed by the Memorial Service beginning at 7 p.m. with Bro. Ron Canard officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
