Arie Anna McKnight, 94, of Little Rock, passed from this life to meet her Savior on Thursday morning, November 29 at Hospice Home Care Center in Little Rock. She was predeceased by her parents, Arie Elizabeth Reed Williamson and George Boles Williamson; her brother, Paul Williamson; her husband of 73 years, Hugh W. McKnight Sr. She is survived by her five children and their spouses: Hugh McKnight II (Linda) of Clinton, Ark.; George McKnight (Sudy) of Cardinal, Va.; Ronnie McKnight (Jana) of Maumelle, Ark.; Andy McKnight (Kathi) of Alexander, Ark. and Betty Rose Sitz (Karl) of Benton, Ark.; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Arie Anna was a wonderful wife, mother, and homemaker who dedicated her life to her family and her Lord. She was born on June 22, 1924 in Little Rock, Ark. and lived there until her retirement. She graduated from Little Rock High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Hugh, when she was only eighteen right before he joined the Navy during WWII. Arie Anna began working at Immanuel Baptist Church where she was a member in 1964 as the preschool and children's director. She was dedicated to the babies and children and took care of them as if they were her own. She often advised the parents about their parenting whether they asked for it or not!! Her advice was always heeded. After retirement she and Hugh moved to Greers Ferry Lake in Clinton to garden and be in "the country". However, they continued to drive 90 miles each way to Immanuel to church each Sunday. They brought produce from their garden to share with friends and family. Eight years ago, Hugh and Arie Anna moved back to Little Rock. In their last years they made over 10,000 salvation bracelets for GO TEAMS to take on GO TRIPS. They felt like that was their way to help in missions. She will be missed by many. To God be the glory. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m., in the Gathering Place at Immanuel Baptist Church, 501 N. Shackleford Road, Little Rock, Ark. on Saturday, December 1 followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the auditorium. Arrangements by Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Ark. 72211 (501) 224-8300. Online guestbook: www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/chenal.
