Mavis Hampton

Mavis Hampton, 95, passed away November 27, 2018, at her home in Cabot, Arkansas. She was born August 31, 1923, in Tupelo, Mississippi, to Archie and Gertrude Humphries. Mavis was a homemaker and loved to knit, read, cook, make flower arrangements, and most of all spend time with her family. She was also a member of the Corners Chapel Baptist Church in Payneway, Arkansas. She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Floyd Hampton; parents; two brothers, Jack and Feldon Humphries; and two sisters, Inez Lillard and Martha Humphries. Survivors include her daughters, Linda (Bob) Sutton, Donna McEuen, and Shirley (Aaron) Walton; grandchildren, Kim (Greg) Young, Jeff (Alex) Moye, Lesly (Billy) Kepler, and Matthew Walton; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Buford (Dorothy) Humphries; and sister, Betty Murrell. A graveside service will be held Saturday, December 1, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Brother Mike Book officiating.
