James W. Drane

James W. Drane Jr., 81, of Maumelle passed away September 16, 2018. He was born on December 28, 1936 to James and Ruth Drane in Nashville, Tennessee. James served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He earned a bachelors degree from George Peabody College for Teachers. James worked as an auditor starting his career with Travelers Insurance and retiring from Liberty Mutual. He was a Civil War buff and loved anything to do with trains, from making model trains to taking trips by train. James was a member of Shepherd of Peace Lutheran Church. James was preceded in death by his parents and two uncles. He is survived by his wife; Carolyn, son; James W. Drane, III (Cindy), two daughters; Tina Sharp, Wendy Plessinger, two grandchildren; five great grandchildren and a host of loving family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Shepherd of Peace Lutheran Church, 449 Millwood Circle, Maumelle, with Pastor David Vandercook presiding.
