Talmadge B. Harbison

Talmadge B. Harbison, 72, of Hensley, Arkansas died Monday, April 1, 2019 at his home. He had lived in the East End of Saline County since 1997, growing up in the Swifton area. He was a member of the Little Rock Community Church. Talmadge served his country in the US Army, during the Vietnam War as a member of the Department of the Army Special Photograph Office (DASPO). He was an accredited photographer for the National Archives. During his time in service he covered the peace talks, and the POW release and US Pueblo crew at Panmujon (ROK) Republic of Korea. He was a radio broadcaster in various markets in Arkansas. He also served as an Arkansas AARP Legislative Advocate for US Veterans and a member of the Veterans Council for AARP. He was preceded in death by his father, Buford L. Harbison. Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Nancy Harbison, of the home; daughter, Lisa Michelle Bunch of Denham Springs, Louisiana; mother, Edna M. (Simmons) Harbison of Jonesboro; sisters, Elaine White (Frank) of North Little Rock; Sandra Ring of Lowell, Arkansas; Angelia Vinson (Rick) of Warrior, Alabama; brother, Milton Wayne Harbison of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Madison Bunch and Hannah Bunch and many nieces, nephews and fur babies. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rick Vinson officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will be at Stranger's Home near Alicia with Clay White, Chris White, Cortney White, Chad Harbison, Grant Harbison and Danny Ring Jr. serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are his fellow members of DASPO. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time.
