Loren Gregory "Greg" Kern of Little Rock, passed away on April 1, 2019, after battling cancer. He was born July 1, 1952, in Pryor, Okla., to Loren Dennis Kern and Marguerite LaDell Rutherford Kern. He grew up in Locust Grove, Okla., and is survived by his father and three siblings, Marian Pilgrim, Les Kern, and Sarah Johnson. At age 14, he met his future wife of 47 years, Debby Russell Kern, with whom he had three daughters: Maradee (Robert) Ulbrich of College Station, Texas, Melissa Kern of Little Rock, and Kim (Steve) Hamblin of Little Rock, and four grandchildren. His family cherished his servant's heart, curious mind, energetic spirit, and sense of humor. He studied Aeronautical Engineering at Oklahoma State University. After three years at E-Systems in Greenville, Texas, he began an almost 40-year career in Little Rock at Dassault Falcon Jet where he held several positions; he dearly loved his family of coworkers there and especially enjoyed mentoring young engineers. His work led to many trips to France, where he and Debby formed close friendships with other Dassault families. Greg was a Godly man who impacted everyone he met in a positive way. His death is deeply mourned but redeemed by the knowledge that he is with the Lord, free of earthly suffering. The family wishes to thank CARTI, specifically Dr. Scott Stern and every member of his staff, for their Godly support throughout Greg's cancer journey. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Greg's name to CARTI Cancer Center at P.O. Box 55011, Little Rock, Ark., 72215. A celebration of Greg's life will include visitation Friday, April 5, from 6-8 and a memorial service Saturday, April 6, at 11:30 a.m., at Geyer Springs First Baptist Church, 12400 I-30 in Little Rock.
