David Boyd

David Boyd, 78, of Johnson, Ark. died on March 31, 2019 after a brief but serious illness. David was born and raised in Texas before moving to the San Francisco Bay Area at age 17. He attended San Jose State University, graduating in 1963 with a degree in Social Sciences. He then enlisted in the United States Navy and served for two years. After his military service, David returned to San Jose and began a 28-year career with IBM as a Systems Analyst. Shortly after moving to San Jose, David met his wife, Ann Linebarger (formerly of Bella Vista). They were married in 1966 and raised their children, Kathleen and Colin, in San Jose before returning to Ann's roots in NW Ark. in 1996. David ended his professional career in 2009 after nine years at Wal-Mart as a Transportation Analyst. David is predeceased by his parents, Vernon and Juanita, his brother Charles and sister Beverly. He is survived by his wife Ann, daughter Kathleen and her husband Troy, son Colin and wife Emily, and grandchildren Jake, Jordan and Ryan. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law and their spouses, Carole and Bill Harter of Fayetteville and Charity and Bill George, plus nine nieces and one nephew. A celebration of life will be held at the home of Ann Boyd on Saturday, April 13, 2019, beginning at 1 p.m. The family requests that remembrances be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
