Martha (Jones) Black, 85, of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away April 3, 2019. She was born May 2, 1933, in Plumerville, Ark., to David Gillard and Winnie Pearl (Hawkins) Jones. Martha was a retired school teacher and a member of Charity Heights Baptist Church. Martha was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; six sisters; and in-laws, Gilbert and Ethel Black, whom she adored. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, William Black; daughters, Linda Black, Barbara Wright (Mike), Beverly Black (Julie Dennis); brother, Leon Jones (Delores); and grandchildren, William "Chris" Adams, Dalton Wright, Dustin Wright; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Gusta Huddleston and Emily Cole. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Plumerville. Pallbearers include Mike Wright, Chris Adams, Dalton Wright, Dustin Wright, Joe Mallet, and Tim Huddleston. Special thanks to the Lake Hamilton Rehab staff and the Arkansas Hospice staff. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Charity Heights Baptist Church, Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Arkansas Hospice, or Cooperative Christian Ministries and Clinic.
