Alma Joyce Kitchens died April 6, 2019, in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was born on April 22, 1930, to David W. and Anne Oliver Guire of Gillham, Arkansas. An educator in Business Education for 36 years, she taught in public schools at Emerson, Village, Elkins and Fayetteville High School, all in Arkansas. She began teaching at the University of Arkansas in the College of Business in 1960 and retired after 28 years of teaching there. Alma was also an active member of Kappa Kappa Iota and Alpha Delta Kappa teacher organizations. She was married to Raymond (Jake) Kitchens for 58 years before his death in 2004. Others preceding her in death are her parents; two sisters, Muriel Fasold and Myrtle Johnson; and three brothers, David Austin Guire, Orval Cash Guire and Russell Guire. She is survived by daughters, Charlotte Haynie and husband Joe, and Karen Brown and husband Charlie; grandsons, Christopher Haynie and wife Lori, and John Haynie and wife Holli; granddaughters, Sarah Constien and husband Alex, and Rachael Julstrom and husband Thomas; great-grandsons, Wesley Haynie and wife Madison, Michael Haynie, Case Haynie, Jeremiah Constien, Benaiah Constien, Ezekiel Constien and Asher Constien; four brothers, Chester Guire, Raymond Guire and wife Sue, Patrick Guire and wife Joette, and Don Guire and wife Lorene; and several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2019, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at First Baptist Church in Fayetteville at 20 E Dickson Street, Fayetteville, Ark. 72701.
