Mickie Tyrone

MICKIE TYRONE of North Little Rock passed away April 8, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emma and Dycus and three sisters, Evelyn, Patsy, and Pat. She leaves behind her husband of 69 years, Robert (Sonny) Tyrone; three sons, Bobby Tyrone and Mark Tyrone of North Little Rock, and Steve Tyrone of Benton; a brother, Dr. Bill Rush of Starkville, Miss.; numerous nieces and nephews, great and great great-nieces and nephews and many cousins. Mickie surrounded herself around beauty including her home, yard and clothes. She liked decorating her home with art, family antiques and objects lovely to look at. She enjoyed taking care of her yard, especially azaleas and irises. She always said a flower garden without an iris is like a queen without a throne. Mickie took pride in her appearance both makeup and clothes. She loved clothes and they loved her back. In her younger days she worked in two different dress shops in Mississippi, Miller's Dress Shoppe and later Bluebird's Fine Ladies Apparel. It was at Bluebirds where she became the lingerie department manager and buyer. She was the number one salesperson at both shops. Mickie loved children, especially reading to them. She worked in the 1970's and 1980's at Mother's Day Out at Sylvan Hills Baptist Church in Sherwood. Mickie not only loved life she had a passion for it. She always had a smile on her face and her personality made who she was. Mickie stood her ground never afraid to speak up. She told it like it was. She was a fighter right up to the end. One word to sum her up was "Courageous". Mickie was a devoted wife, mother, aunt, sister, cousin and friend. She will be missed and will always be with us. The family would like to thank Dr. Bruce Sanderson and Staff, Dr. Mendelsohn and Staff at CARTI, Dr. Hanan Makhoul and Staff, Sherwood Nursing and Rehab: C.J., Annette, Angelica, the three Stephanies and Diann, the staff at Lakewood Nursing and Rehab, and everyone at Kindred Hospice, for all the care and love shown to Mickie. The family would also like to thank the firefighter at Station #9 in North Little Rock for being so caring with Mickie. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
