Anthony C. "Tony" Mazzanti, age 92, of Lake Village died Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Chicot Memorial Medical Center of Lake Village, Ark. Tony was born December 28, 1926 in Lake Village, Arkansas, to the late Egino Mazzanti and the late Franchina (Carnevaletti) Mazzanti. Upon graduation from Lakeside High School, Tony served in the United States Navy in the Pacific. Following his military service, Tony returned to Lake Village and began a farming career which continued as a lifelong passion. Tony was an avid outdoorsman and was continuously seeking to further his knowledge and understanding of agriculture, wildlife, fauna, the Mississippi River and all other aspects of the local eco system. Tony found great joy in gardening and sharing the resulting fruits and vegetables with the community. However, his greatest joy was the mutual devotion and dedication shared between him and the great love of his life, Louise. Tony and Louise enjoyed the outdoors and traveling adventures side by side throughout the United States and many other countries. Tony was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, member of the Knights of Columbus, served on many local boards and committees. Proceeded in death by, four brothers, Joe Mazzanti, Vincent Mazzanti, John Mazzanti, Geno Mazzanti Jr.; four sisters, Lena Boyd, Catherine Mazzanti, Pantilena Mazzanti, and Rose Morara. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Louise Catalani Mazzanti of Lake Village; two brothers: Francis (Jalna) Mazzanti of Lake Village, and Jerry (Sharon) Mazzanti of Lake Village, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be Monday, April 15, from 5-6 p.m. with Rosary at 6 p.m. at Bishop-King Funeral Home Chapel in Lake Village. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday April 16, 2019 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Village, Ark., with Father Stephen Hart as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Isidore Cemetery in Lake Village. Arrangements are by Bishop-King Funeral Home of Lake Village, Arkansas.
