Katherine "Jean" Ross, 94, of Cabot, Arkansas passed from this world to the next Tuesday, April 16th.She Born in Memphis, Tennessee to parents Roy Lee and Thaye Evelyn Quinn, Jean was a 1943 graduate of North Little Rock High School. Jean married the love of her life, Sam M. Ross, on June 8, 1943. Shortly afterwards she boarded a bus to San Pedro, California, where she worked in the shipyards as an Electricians Helper during WWII. Jean will be remembered by all for her bright smile, her laughter and sense of humor and her deep love of family. Even in the worst of pain, she put on a brave face for her family. She was a member of the Cabot United Methodist Church, the Ladies Golf Association, a volunteer at NLR Memorial Hospital where she served for over 1000 hours and a member of the PTA. Jean brightened her surroundings with her gardening and love of flowers and her creativity, making her own greeting cards for every occasion. She loved working on cross word puzzles and reading books on her Kindle. She was rarely without her favorite candy – watermelon gummies. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Carolyn Dollar and Jackie Quinn; brothers, Jack Quinn and Jerry Quinn. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 75 years, Sam M. Ross of Cabot; son, Sammy W. Ross and his wife, Maggie, of Sherwood; daughters, Lynda Ross-Nanney of Cabot and Joan M. Gann and husband, Eddie of El Paso; brother, Frank Quinn and wife, Veronica, of San Angelo, Texas along with seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 20th at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Rd., NLR with visitation beginning one hour prior.
