William "Bill" H. Piercy, age 89, of Bentonville, passed away April 20, 2019. Bill was born September 26, 1929 in Vaughn, Arkansas to parents M. Rice Piercy and Lena Keller Piercy. He was united in marriage to Violet McGehee in 1949 and they enjoyed 70 happy years together. After driving for Kraft Foods for 25 years, Bill raised cattle and poultry for 42 years on the same family homestead in which he was born and raised. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter-in-law, Connie Piercy; and two grandsons, Aaron Turrentine and Ryan Turrentine. He is survived by his wife, Violet of the home; one son, William E. Piercy; two daughters, Linda Blain and husband Michael, Beverly Meek and husband Vernon; one sister, Francis C. Piercy; 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. He passed on the same land he so deeply loved and revered. Bill/Daddy/Papaw will forever be remembered for his deep love of his wife Violet, his family, his cattle, scrappy farm dogs, and cheap blended Scotch. Family and friends will miss his giant hands--only matched by his giant heart--his sense of humor, and twinkling eyes. At the request of the deceased, a private family gathering upon internment will be held in lieu of formal services. Arrangements are with Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3800 W.Walnut, Rogers.
