James Marshall Newcom, age 79, of Sherwood, went to be with the Lord on April 23, 2019. He was born July 8, 1939, to Lilburn and Verna Marie Newcom. He was preceded in death by his parents. James was a Navy Veteran and worked in heating and air. He was a member of Pershing United Pentecostal Church.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Norma F. Newcom; son, Leslie (Pamela) Newcom; daughter, Tammie (James) Sifford; brothers, Tommy Newcom and Curtis Newcom; sister, Elenor Britton; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills. Funeral service will be Friday, April 26, at 2 p.m. at Pershing United Pentecostal Church, Bro.
