Margaret Knighton Habenicht

of Little Rock, AR, 1930 - 2019

Margaret Knighton Habenicht passed away on April 22, 2019 at age 89. She was born April 20, 1930 to Caver Newton and Addie Mae (Baker) Knighton in Buckner, Arkansas.
Margaret grew up on a farm in Buckner, Arkansas and graduated from Stamps High School. She moved to Little Rock and attended business school while being a nanny. She met Paul Habenicht after his family left a farm in central Missouri. They married in 1952 and made their home together wherever Paul's work took them.argaret shined at hospitality, whether it be a birthday party, teaching Sunday School, welcoming family that came to visit, or as a Cub Scout den mother. You couldn't visit Margaret without "walking the yard" to see what was in bloom. The walk would include the history of where she got the start of each plant and offers to take a cutting so you could start one of your own.
Her sweet smile and cheery disposition will be missed by family, friends, and those special friends that helped care for her at Pleasant Valley Nursing Home.
She is survived by two sons, Mark of Atkinson, N.H., Steven Douglas (Stephanie) of Little Rock, Ark.; grandchildren, Ashely and David Habenicht of Salem NH, Conor Habenicht of Springdale, Ark., and Seth Habenicht of Little Rock, Ark.; two brothers, Ray and Loyce (Corinna) Knighton, one sister, Joyce (Ken) Knighton Howard; many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Habenicht, parents, Caver Newton and Addie May (Baker) Knighton, two brothers, Simuel Knighton and C.N. Knighton r., four sisters, Juanita Finlayson, Mary Shurtleff, Ophelia Schee, and Virginia Knighton.
Pallbearers are Mark Habenicht, Steve Habenicht, Conor Habenicht and Seth Habenicht. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. with Memorial Service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Roller Chenal Funeral Home.
