Wilma Faye (Dunaway) Vanlandingham, 94, of the Pinnacle Community; passed away peacefully on April 23, 2019. She was born November 4, 1924, at Thompson; to Tom and Mary Riggins Dunaway.
Wilma was the only daughter of six children. She was married to Carl Edward Vanlandingham on December 20, 1941. They were happily married for 65 years until his death on February 15, 2007. She was a homemaker, scaled logs during World War II in Oregon, worked for Baldwin Piano Company in Fayetteville, was a painter, quilter, avid reader, and gardener.
Wilma is survived by her son, Carl Anthony "Tony" Vanlandingham of Delray Beach, Florida; two grandchildren, Michael Donahou Vanlandingham of Elkins; and Melissa Anne Leistra of Silver Springs, Maryland; one step-granddaughter, Justine Kenin Hedgepeth of Washington, DC; five great-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 10 a.m.-11 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2019, at Brashears Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 11 a.m. with Jasper Hankins officiating. Pallbearers will be Lawrence Bowman, Leon Drain, Bill Dunaway, Darrell Dunaway, Carlos Dyke, and Raymond Trolinger. Interment will be held at Pinnacle Cemetery in Elkins. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, Ark. 72764. Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
