JJAMES "JIM" WRIGHT KENNEDY, 97, of Little Rock, formerly of Pine Bluff, died Thursday, April 25, 2019 at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Pine Bluff, Ark. on July 31, 1921, son of William Holder Kennedy and Ethel Mann Kennedy. Jim graduated from Pine Bluff High School and attended the Citadel. He served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II, earning the rank of First Lieutenant. He was the owner of WH Kennedy and Son Cotton. Jim served on the Pine Bluff City Council, served on the board of National Bank of Commerce and served on the board of the Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Jim was also an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church, where he served on the Vestry for many years. He was an avid golfer who loved the game and his many friendships. He was still curious until the end of his life about world events and life in general. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Cox Kennedy; his parents; his brother, William Holder Kennedy Jr.; and stepson, Phillip Faulkner. Survivors include his daughter, Beegee Hunt (David) of Springdale, Ark.; son, Jim Kennedy (Young Kil Jung) of San Francisco; grandchildren, Katy Ryan (Tom), David Hunt Jr. (Bethany), Jamie Hunt (Jessica) and Will Hunt (Alex) and 10 great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Brianne Bush and children Alex (Nicki) of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Mackenzie of Little Rock and Lisa Breau (Randy) and children, Hannah and Connor of Little Rock; step-daughter-in-law, Sue Faulkner and son, Christopher of Little Rock. A private service will be held in the Trinity Episcopal Church Columbarium Courtyard in Pine Bluff, Tuesday, April 30, 2019, with the Reverend C.B. Baker officiating. A celebration of Jim's life will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church in the Parish Hall in Pine Bluff on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. for family and friends. Special thanks to his loving caregivers, Alice Wood, Curtis Felps, Sam Bone, Eula Bone and Matilda Anquandah.
