Rose Marie Jeffries, 85, of Springdale, Arkansas, went Home to be with the Savior she served for nearly 70 years on April 25, 2019, in Springdale. Born January 18, 1934, in St. Louis, Missouri, she was the daughter of George and Gladys Strubelt. She was married to Dr. Gene Jeffries for 64 years and was his partner in Gospel ministry in the United States, Australia, and around the world. After a career as an elementary school teacher, she taught pre-school in retirement for nine grandchildren. She played an instrumental role in leading her children and grandchildren to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, and she invested countless hours in teaching them how to follow Him. She was a graduate of Southwest Baptist University and Pittsburg State University and received a Master's in Education from Cambridge Graduate School. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jack and Tommy. She is survived by her husband, Gene; one sister, Lucille (Ben) Stotler; three children, Richard E. Jeffries (Amy) of Springdale, Teri VerHoeven (Jon) of Springdale, and Dr. Robert Jeffries (Valarie) of Rogers; ten grandchildren, Jonathan (Marissa) and Jeffrey VerHoeven, Richard B., Erin, Matthew, Haley, Robby, Heather, and Christopher Jeffries; and one great-grandchild, Joseph VerHoeven. Pallbearers will be Dr. Robert and Robby Jeffries; Jon, Jonathan, and Jeffrey VerHoeven; and Dr. Perry Tribble. A Celebration of Life service will be at Fellowship Bible Church in Springdale at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 29.
