Sam Clinton Lazenby, III, age 73, of Springdale, died Saturday, April 27, 2019. He was born January 13, 1946 in Helena, Arkansas, to Sam Clinton, Jr. and Eltha Josephine Hall Lazenby. Sam graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1969 with a Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He married Brenda Jane Parsons that same year and the couple moved to Pennsylvania where he worked for Bechtel Corporation for eight years. In 1977, Sam and Brenda returned to Arkansas to farm and raise their family. He enjoyed gardening and raising animals, but above all was a devoted family man, loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Lazenby; three sons, Clint Lazenby and wife Staci, Nathan Lazenby and wife Jordana, all of Springdale, Daniel Lazenby and wife Andrea of Bentonville; five grandchildren, Harrison Lazenby, Noah Lazenby, Lilianna Lazenby, Ethan Lazenby, Jackson Lazenby; and a sister, Nancy Mattox and husband Richard of Collierville, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by a sister, Eltha Lazenby. A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-7 p.m. Tuesday at Heritage Funeral Home, online obituary and guestbook at www.heritageofnwa.com.
