Lucille (Lou) Montgomery, age 98, was born June 3, 1921 in Russelville, Ohio. Lou and her family moved to Colorado in 1925 and from Colorado to Arkansas in 1935 where she later met and married Otis Montgomery in 1946. They were married 68 years and finished their days in Arkansas. Our mom enjoyed an excellent quality of life thanks to her family and especially the Friends in the Truth. A special thanks to her niece, Esther George, for all the times each week she came to visit and read to Mom. Thank you, Bob and Esther Sutton for your weekly Thursday nigh visits, and you, Fred and Georgia Alderink, for all the times you came to visit and read the books Georgia had written. A special thanks to Sandy Cameron for reading and discussing the Wednesday bible study each week and then taking time to have lunch with her. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is survived by son, Earnie, (Dona) daughter, Sarah (Gary) Mcbryde, son, Dave, six grandchildren, six great0-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and their children. Preceding her in death her husband, Otis Montgomery, parents, Larnen and Esta Snyder, sisters Estella Grigg (Lonie) and Hazel Grigg (Irvin), brothers Larnen Jr. (Butch) (Vi), little brother, Bobby and daughter-in-law, Janice Montgomery. She was a fabulous cook and managed the kitchen at Oakdale retiring in 1983. A special family memory is gathering around the Thanksgiving table to enjoy one of Mom's delicious meals. At the age of 13, she made her choice to serve the Lord and the Sunday morning and or Wednesday bible study were in her home most of her life. Her home was always open for the Friends and Workers to gather. Even after losing her sight, she was able to quote Bible verses as if she were reading them. To the end, she knew all words to many hymns. She was a faithful example to all. We will miss her great sense of humor, her sharp mind, and her sweet spirit. The end of life care and support received by her family from the Circle of Life Hospice was an invaluable gift. A special thanks to RN, Roberta, CNA, Pam, Social Worker, Amber and delivery and installation of equipment, Todd. In lieu of flowers please donate to Circle of Life Hospice, Springdale, Arkansas. Visitation will be held 10 a.m. until service time at the church on Saturday. Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Oakley Chapel United Methodist Church 203 S.
