Herbert Charles Kunz

Herbert Charles Kunz Jr. of Little Rock passed in peace at home Sunday, July 28th at the age of 88. He was born on April 2, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois to Herbert and Mildred Kunz. Herbert (Herb) is preceded in death by his parents and his first love, Peggy Ann Kunz. He is survived by his second love, Jean Trusty Kunz, his son, Bill Kunz, daughter, Amy Volk and his granddaughters, Kelly Piagnarelli, Erin VanderVeen and Elizabeth Dresch and his great-grandchildren, Siena, Miya, and Miles. He is also survived by his wife's children, Donna Rouse, Linda Holmes and her grandchildren, Jim Scallion, Marc Holmes, David Bird, Katie Allen, and her great-grandchildren, Grace, Jaxon, Paige, Avery, Cooper, Lacey and Graham. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church where he and Jean enjoyed adventures including a trip to the Holy Lands where he was baptized in the River Jordan. They also enjoyed numerous excursions in Arkansas with their loving church family. He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association. He was an accomplished and inquisitive person, Herb's interests ranged from classical piano, bee keeping, gardening, to repairing anything, especially clocks. He was a skilled private pilot possessing commercial and instrument ratings with over 1,500 flight hours and even built his own aircraft. Herb's greatest passion was his family. Herb will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather; a proud patriot and U.S. Navy submarine veteran. In lieu of flowers memorial can be made in Herb's name to Immanuel Baptist Church. A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, August 5, 2019 at Immanuel Baptist Church, 501 N.
