Thomas Price Albright

Springdale, AR, 1951 - 2019

Dr. Thomas Price Albright passed from this life into eternity at Washington Regional in Fayetteville, Ark. on August 1, 2019. He was surrounded by his wife and children. Tom was born in Sweetwater, Texas on August 14, 1951 to Dr. Dan and Opal Albright. He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Dan J. Albright, and his in-laws, Harvey and Mary Elsie B. Gilbert.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary, whom he married on March 29, 1980 in Hope, Ark.; one son, Jason and wife Erin of Overland Park, Kan.; two daughters, Hillary Price and husband Greg, of Springdale, Ark. and Bethney Asante and husband Kwasi of Charlotte, N.C.; his Mother, Opal Albright of Springdale, Ark.; four grandchildren, Colton and Xander Albright of Overland Park, Ksn. and Keziah and Kimathi Asante of Charlotte, N.C.; two step-grandchildren, Grant and Natalie Price of Rogers, Ark.; one brother, John Albright of Las Vegas, Nev.; two sisters, June Wilkins of Encinitas, Calif. and Judy Wesselhoft and husband Paul of Moore, Okla. and many nieces and nephews.
Tom moved from Sweetwater to Pauls Valley, Okla. when he was two months old. After graduating from high school, Tom attended Oklahoma State University. Following in his father's footsteps, who was a veterinarian in private practice for 48 years, Tom graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at OSU in May, 1976. After graduation, he entered veterinary practice with Dr. Joe Kelsey for several months before joining the United States Department of Agriculture, Meat and Poultry Inspection Program in February, 1977. While working in SW Arkansas, Tom met the love of his life, Mary in Hope, Ark. In 1987, Tom was promoted to Springdale, Ark. as the Assistant Area Supervisor. In November, 1996, he was promoted as the Area Supervisor. In August, 1997, Tom relocated to Omaha, Neb. and worked in the Technical Service Center for 6 years. Tom was promoted back to Springdale, Ark. in May 2003 as the Deputy District Manager in the Food Safety and Inspection Service where he served until his retirement in January 2009. During his 30+ years of service in the USDA, he served in several supervisory/managerial positions and received numerous Awards for Excellence. After retirement, Tom was a private consultant for George's Inc. of Springdale, Ark. for several years.
Tom's hobbies included gardening, his yearly fishing trip with co-workers/friends to Southwest Arkansas and traveling. Tom was a member of New Hope Fellowship Church in Springdale where he served faithfully in different areas, especially donating to the House of Hope.
Family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Westfield Chapel, 3236 W. Huntsville Ave., Springdale, with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Cliff Jenkins, officiating.
