On Tuesday, July 30, 2019, Victor Manuel Castro Chinchilla, loving husband, father, grandfather and a believer of Jesus Christ, passed away at the age of 83. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 3, in the Westfield Chapel in Springdale, Ark. Pastor Brandon Martin will officiate. Victor was born on September 11, 1935, in Santa Rosa de Copan, Honduras. He was the son of the late Emilio and Amanda (Chinchilla) Castro. Victor is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betulia (Pavon) Castro, his children, Geraldina (David) Lundien of Rogers, Arkansas, Victor (Laura) Castro of Benton, Arkansas, and his granddaughters, Paulina, Isabella and Francesca Castro. Victor also leaves behind Efrain and Lourdes Fortin of Honduras with their families and Nora Fortin of Houston with her family. After studying meteorology in Mexico City, Victor worked as a commercial airline professional in Central America for more than 33 years. Before retirement, he managed the international airports of Honduras. Victor enjoyed painting, drawing, communicating with friends on-line and writing Christian articles. He retired in Rogers, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mercy Health Foundation of Northwest Arkansas, 2710 S. Rife Medical Lane Rogers, Ark. 72758.
