John Nathan Hurley, 64, of Austin passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. John served in the Army with a four year tour in Germany. Recently he worked for Cedar Creek where he'd been for many years. John was a loving, outgoing, funny and friendly guy that all people loved and wished they had as their best friend. If it was broke, he could fix it…anything. He was loyal to a fault; and he loved his family beyond anything in life. There simply aren't words that can adequately describe our loss. John was a faithful follower and servant of his Lord, Jesus Christ. John was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Lula Hurley and father-in-law, Red Jones. Survivors include his loving wife, Sandie; daughter, Jessica (Robbie) Hess; granddaughter, Marilou; brothers, Jim (Nancy), Joe (Sheila); sister, Jacqui; aunt, Mickie Ripley; mother-in-law, Marilyn Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Memorial services will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at Sylvan Hills United Methodist Church, 9921 Hwy. 107, Sherwood, Arkansas 72120. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, August 5, 2019 at the church. Memorials in John's memory may be made to Dorcas House, 823 S Park St., Little Rock, Ark. 72202. Arrangements by Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home, (501) 982-2136. Online guestbook: www.mooresjacksonvillefuneralhome.com.
