In 1992, he moved to Arkansas where he served 19 years as the Vice President of Agriculture for the University of Arkansas, the longest ever serving in that role. He retired in 2011 and moved to his ranch near Doss, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ann McDermott Shult, one son, Milo Johnson Shult of Frisco, Texas and daughter-in-law Danna and two grandchildren, Macy and Jared Shult. Milo was devoted to the land grant system at both Texas A&M University and the University of Arkansas. In Arkansas he coined the phrase "Arkansas is our Campus", which is still used across the organization. He served on many state, regional, and national committees including the Council for Agricultural Research, Extension and Teaching (CARET), Arkansas Agriculture Board, and was Chairman of the Board for the National Agricultural Research, Extension, Education and Economics (NAREEE) and Chair of the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute. In 2011, Milo was inducted into the Arkansas Agriculture Hall of Fame. He loved spending time with his family and was involved in their activities, including many years coaching MJ's sports teams, hunting, and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He had a passionate support for law enforcement serving as a Park Ranger at the Ozark National Scenic Riverways while in college and was a member of the FBI Citizen's Academy and the Doss School Board later in life.  A Celebration of Life will be held on August 6 at St. Peters Episcopal Church in Conway, Ark., ( 925 Mitchell St) with visitation at 10 a.m. and service at 11 a.m. A memorial service will also be held August 9 at 11 a.m. at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Fredericksburg, Texas (601 W Creek St) with visitation afterwards.
