TOM ROGER FORD was born in Atlanta, Texas, to the late Tom Butler and Mable Jeanette Ford on July 27, 1939. He passed away on July 30, 2019, due to complications from chemotherapy. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Donna Knight Ford, two sons Tom Ed Ford of Hot Springs, Ark., and Roger Ford of Little Rock, one brother, Terry D. Ford of Houston, Texas. There is one grandson and one great-grandson. In addition there is a special cousin Betty Ford of Nacogdoches, Texas and other family and friends too numerous to mention. In childhood Tom picked up the name Ronnie and it is what all of us who loved him called him. Ronnie left us on July 30, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. He passed away peacefully after being taken off the machines that were keeping him alive. He was 80 years old. The men of the family gathered around him and nurses gave drugs to make his transition virtually painless. His passing has left us all with a hole in our hearts that cannot be filled. Like his father education was close to his heart. He held a Master of Science degree and even a Juris Doctor though he never took the bar exam. He taught in Pulaski County School and was a sales representative for Charles E. Merrill. He knew school people all over the state and was welcomed wherever he went. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 10, at 2 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock.
