Thelma Erma Lockhart

Thelma Erma Lockhart, 94, of the Vaughn community passed into the gates of Heaven on Saturday, August, 3, 2019. She was born November 6, 1924 in Valley County, Neb., to the late Claude A. and Hattie E. Richardson. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Rolland E. Lockhart and a son, Randall L. Lockhart. She is survived by her daughter Kathleen Huber and husband James, son Bruce E. Lockhart, son Ross L. Lockhart and wife Brenda, 11 grand children, 22 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Lockhart was a dedicated contributor to society serving in many leadership capacities throughout her lifetime. Service organizations include the Presbyterian Women's Foundation, Extension Homemakers Club, 4-H Foundation, and Volunteer Election Committee just to mention a few. She became a Believer at an early age and has faithfully served our Lord and Savior the majority of her life. Thelma taught grades 1-6 in a one room school house in Central Nebraska and rode a horse 6 miles each way. She was intelligent, quick witted, and an inspiration to who knew her. Mom-GG-Grandma-Podie was loved and will be extremely missed by her family and friends beyond what mere words can convey. However, her service to God preceded all and was apparent to all who knew her. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 6, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. and her Memorial Service will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 7, 2019. Both will be held at the Vaughn Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow in Barron Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Bentonville. Condolences may be expressed at CallisonLoughFH.com.
