Laura Jane Sellers, 79, died on Monday, August 5, 2019. She was born on July 26, 1940 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Lynn and Louise Johnson Shelton. Laura almost always had a puzzle going and coffee ready for visitors. A collector of sorts, Laura loved her frog figurines and Boyds Bears. She was an avid reader who loved a good game of Scrabble. She retired as an LPN, having served patients at Baptist Health, Little Rock Internal Medicine Clinic, and Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. Laura was one of those rare, selfless individuals who always put others' needs above her own. She welcomed the opportunity to host family and friends and prepare her signature spaghetti for dinner and melt-in-your-mouth fudge for dessert, unless, of course, it was raining outside and then it was "spoon fudge." Even in her later years, as her eyes couldn't see as far down the road and her knees couldn't carry her quite as far, her love of her grandchildren never failed. She made many LRCA football games, Bryant Legacy performances, Baptist Prep soccer games, and Special Olympics competitions as possible. The youngest of 11 children, she was known as Aunt Polly to many nieces and nephews and as Gram or Gramma to nine grandchildren: Alessandro Sereni, Stephanie (Ben) Young, Samantha (Tyler) Shearer, Jessica Wood, Samuel Sellers II, William Sellers, Hannah (Kody) Harrison, Sarah Sellers, Benjamin Sellers, and two great-grandchildren, Everly Shearer, Theodore Harrison and another on the way. She is survived by her four children, Tamarah Sereni of Houston, Peni (Michael) Wood of Heber Springs, Sam (Holly) Sellers of Little Rock, and John (Jennifer) Sellers of Bryant, and brother, Robert (Hilde) Shelton of Little Rock and sister, Katie DeBoard of Plano. She was preceded in death by her son, Lynn Sellers, brothers, Larry Shelton, Billy Shelton, Charlie Shelton, and Claude Shelton, and sisters, Lynnda Lynch, Mary Gotelli, Barbara Stewart, and Katherine Kelly. Services will be this evening, Wednesday, August 7 at 6:30 p.m. at New Life Church in Maumelle. Arrangements by Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct., (501) 224-2200. Laura's online guestbook may be signed at www.littlerockfuneralhome.com.
