Donald Albert Lowery of Searcy, Arkansas passed away on Friday August 09, 2019 at Unity Health-White County Medical Center in Searcy, Arkansas. Don was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Albert B. Lowery and Leo Corrine Lowery. Don was preceded in death by Albert B. Lowery and Leo Corrine Lowery (parents), Thelma Hardin of Houston, Texas (sister), Bill Lowery of Judsonia, Arkansas (brother), Dr. Ben Lowery of Judsonia, Arkansas (brother), Eva Mae Lowery of Judsonia, Arkansas (sister). Don is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Mary Frances Lowery (Miller). Don and Frances have 3 children-Donald Douglas Lowery (Donna) of Greenbrier, Arkansas, Sharon Kay Deterding (Jeffrey) of Red Bud, Illinois and Stephen Austin Lowery (Sherry) of Judsonia, Arkansas. Don was a great protector and teacher of his 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Don is also survived by Joyce Morris of Searcy, Arkansas, David Lowery (Betty) of Bald Knob, Arkansas, Jim Lowery of Judsonia, Arkansas, Dr. Robert Lowery (Anita) of Searcy, Arkansas and Tom Lowery (Donna) of Searcy, Arkansas. Don was a devoted deacon, avid reader and bible student, lover of God and family, loyal brother true to his Scotch-Irish heritage and a hard worker. He worked at St. Louis County Water Company for 47 years and retired to Searcy, Arkansas with his wife, Mary Frances Lowery in 2003 where he pursued gardening, hunting and the occasional gravy making. He served as a Missionary Baptist deacon and was currently a member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Judsonia, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be David Deterding, Michael Chi, Donald Fowler, Brett Lowery, Clint Lowery and Mark Lowery. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Deterding and David Harrington. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Powell Funeral Home in Searcy, Arkansas. Funeral will be 10 a.m. on Monday, August 12, 2019 at Powell Funeral Home in Searcy, Arkansas with burial following at Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Judsonia, Arkansas.
