Jackie McKail Evans

Jackie McKail Evans, 87, of Cabot, passed away August 7, 2019. He was born July 6, 1932 in Old Austin (Ward) to the late Otha Thomas and Anna Martin Evans. Jackie was a lifelong resident of the Cabot area, a longtime member of Cabot United Methodist Church, and a Mason in the Cabot Lodge for 50 years. He graduated from Cabot High School in 1950 where he played football. During Jackie's lifetime, he was a home builder, worked for Windsor Door, owned a service station in Jacksonville and also owned Jack's Frostie (Dairy Bar) in Cabot. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Johnnie Bell Evans, daughter-in-law Mary Catherine Evans, grandson Joshua Wayne Evans, great-granddaughter Hope Wallace, three sisters, and one brother. Survivors include his son, Stan (Michele) Evans; grandchildren: Stacey (Benjamin Eggleton) Evans and Stephany (Kyle) Wallace, great-grandson Wolfe Thomas Eggleton, lifelong family members and friends, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack and Betty Carrington; nieces Debbie (Mike) Polston, Jacque (David) Howard, Regina (Andy) Murphy, Sharon (George) Herndon, Suzie (Eddie) Smith; nephews John (Barbara) Coffey, Larry Coffey, Ronnie (Sharon) Barentine, Everett Barentine, John (Jessica) Murphy, Thomas (Susan) Evans, and Lee (Denise) Evans, and numerous grand-nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Cabot United Methodist Church with Reverend Stephen Dickinson officiating. Inurnment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
