Stanley Holland Andrews

Stanley Holland Andrews, age 91, of Hot Springs, passed away July 19, 2019. He was born March 4, 1928 in Searcy, Ark., to Colonel Charles H. and Lois Andrews. Raised in Little Rock and in a military family, Stan was able to see much of the country. He attended one year at Little Rock High School and three years at Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, Mo. Upon graduation, he joined the Army in the Korean War and boxed Golden Gloves at Madison Square Gardens. Stan met and married Barbara Wasden in May of 1952. He worked for Arkansas Power and Light (Entergy) from February of 1953 to May 1990. He loved to fish and play pool when he could. Stan was a sweet and loving person who enjoyed home cooking. He also enjoyed listening to the Hogs on the radio. Stan was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Barbara. He will be fondly remembered by his four children: Micki (Ron) Sloan of Hot Springs, David M. Andrews of Little Rock, Rosemary (Sheryl) Andrews of Rush City, Minn., and Thomas H. (Jamie) Andrews of North Little Rock, and grandson Logan H. Andrews, of Jacksonville. Memorial services are 10 a.m.–noon, Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home.
