James E. Patterson, age 73, of Bella Vista, Arkansas passed away on August 9, 2019 at the Veterans Hospital in Fayetteville. He was born July 11, 1946 in Omaha, NE to Ray and Anna (Pōloncic) Patterson. James was awarded several medals while serving in the U.S. Navy during the Viet Nam war. He enjoyed his activities with the Ozark Car Club, golfing and fishing with friends and NASCAR.
Preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Juanita Patterson and second wife, Shirley Patterson. Survived by his sister, Patricia Erwin and daughter, Dana Patterson Smith.
A Celebration of Life and reception will be held at New Life Christian Church at 10 a.m., Friday, August 16th. Inurnment will follow at 1 p.m. at Fayetteville National Cemetery, 700 Government Avenue, Fayetteville, Arkansas with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorials will be donated to Bella Vista Animal Shelter in honor of his dog LG.
