Geneva Lucille Baker of Elkins, went home to her Heavenly Father on Monday, August 12, 2019 at 77 years young. She was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on April 17, 1942 to Melvin Ralph and Electa Serene (McSwane) Skelton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 52 years Rev. Dean Wesley Baker, grandsons, Wesley Wayne Baker and Lenny Ray Steward. Geneva was a prayer warrior and follower of Jesus. She was a long time member of the Church of God. She taught Sunday School for many years, played piano, and loved to sing about her Savior. She was a pastor's wife for many years, making sure to help many with rides to church and delivering meals to people in their homes. She was a very loving, compassionate, and giving individual to everyone she came into contact with. She was a devoted caregiver to her mother for many years. Family was important to her. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. Geneva is survived by her children, son, Thad Baker and his wife Barbie of Elkins, daughters, Tamra Warford and her husband Terry of Fayetteville, and Teresa Steward and her husband Lenny of Delaney; grandchildren, Casey Warford, Geneva LeAnn Skelton, Misty Baker, James Warford, Stacie Combs, Shana Foshe, Stephanie Porter, and Paul Steward; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Pilcher of Springdale; brother, Ralph Skelton and his wife Betty of Elkins; and many other friends, family, and loved ones. A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 15, at Harris Baptist Church at 10 a.m. with service to start at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at McCord Cemetery.
