Betty S. Flowers, 75, of Austin, passed away August 15, 2019. She was born December 31, 1943 in Decaturville, Tennessee to the late Omar and Grapelle Stevens. Betty retired after many years from Cabot School District where she spent many years as an administrative assistant at Eastside Elementary. She was very active in Kiwanis. Betty served as Lieutenant Governor of the Missouri Arkansas District of Kiwanis International and in 2013-2014, she served as Governor. She also served as President of the Cabot Kiwanis. Betty was a Kiwanis representative for Key Club, a Key Club District Leader for Missouri Arkansas Kiwanis and a Key Leader Sponsor. She was active on the club, district and international levels of Kiwanis and also volunteered at A Woman's Place, as well as many other Kiwanis service projects. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Mike Flowers and her brother, Bill Stevens. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Missy (Dennis) McGee of Ward; son, Shannon (Amy) Flowers of Katy, Texas; four grandchildren, Shannon Lynne Flowers, Steven Flowers, Josh (Cassie) McGee and Selena McGee. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Monday, August 19, 2019 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home with Stubby Stumbaugh officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Sunday, August 18, 2019 at the funeral home. The family suggests donations be made in memory of Betty Flowers to the Cabot Kiwanis Club, PO Box 569, Cabot, Ark. 72023.
