Johnnie Faye Byrd Epperson, 83, passed peacefully on August 24, 2019 surrounded by her family. Johnnie was born November 22, 1935 in Morrilton, Arkansas to Wilmer and Marring Byrd. She was a loving little sister to her hero big brother, W.O Byrd. She was raised in Morrilton, Ark. and a 1953 graduate of Morrilton High. Johnnie then followed her heart around the south, landing in Little Rock in 1971. Her three children are David Epperson, Donna (Bryan) Cranford and Denise White. She was a grandmother to Brad (Delmy) Fausett, Allison (Kent) Summers, Cheryl (James) Brassfield, Mathew and Jacob Epperson, the late Lucas Epperson, Madison (Jay) Baker and Owen White. Also a great grandmother to Josie, Henry and Scarlett Summers. As well as Nathalie Zayas, Ethan Bendeck and Mason Fausett. She was also a cousin, aunt, great-aunt and even great-great-aunt to several! She kept her distant family as close to her heart as her immediate. Johnnie loved working her 37 years at McKay and Company. Her wit, humor and sass were enjoyed by everyone there creating friendships that she carried on long after retirement. Everyone that knew her, knew that she was a country music fanatic. Alan Jackson, Willie Nelson and Emmylou Harris are just a couple of favorites. She loved trips to Nashville with her brother and his family, Branson with her girlfriends, and the Buffalo river with her family. More than anything, Johnnie enjoyed a nice evening, a great playlist, with a patio for dancing. She loved to jitterbug and added her own priss to every move. Johnnie was a member of Highland Valley United Methodist Church in Little Rock. She had a close relationship with her Lord and had no problem trusting him to take her whenever he was ready. Johnnie's life will be celebrated at Pinecrest Funeral Home on Friday August 30th, 2019. Visitation will begin at 12 noon, Funeral Services at 2 p.m. and burial to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Conway County Center For Exceptional Children, 109 Strait Street, Morrilton, Ark. 72110.
