Glen Burl Ellis, 75, of Bryant, Ark. passed away on August 26, 2019. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Patsy Ann Ellis. Glen, along with his twin sister Gloria, was born on November 23, 1943 in Baton Rouge, La. to W.S. "Doc" Ellis and Katherine Letha Swan Ellis. He grew up in El Dorado, Ark. Glen began his 33-year printing industry career on the night of Christmas Eve, 1964 in El Dorado, Ark., and later moved to Little Rock, Ark. in 1967 and then to Bryant, Ark. a few years later. He continued in the printing industry until early 1997. Glen served in the U.S. Army Reserves beginning in June, 1963 until his discharge as a Staff Sergeant in June, 1970. He was a member of the Freemasons fraternal organization and was a member and Past Master (1988) of Congo Masonic Lodge #743 F&M located in Benton, Ark. Glen was a family man devoted to his family with many hobbies and interests that he enjoyed throughout his life with his kids and friends. He was a passionate gardener well known for his tomatoes and jalapenos that he grew for decades. His outdoor activities included hunting, fishing and relic hunting in various parts of Arkansas. In addition to his outdoor hobbies, he was an avid history buff, particularly of the Civil War and World War II time periods. Glen was preceded in death by his parents W.S. Ellis and Katherine Ellis. In addition to his wife Patsy Ann Ellis, he is survived by his son Charles Glen Ellis (Diana) and grandson Grant and granddaughter Vivian of Providence Village, Texas; his daughter Katherine Irene Leslie (Darin) and grandson, Griffin of Benton, Ark.; and his daughter Patricia Glenda Stewart (Samuel) of Farmington, Ark. He is also survived by his twin sister Gloria Ellis Lewis of Dallas, Texas. The burial service is scheduled on Saturday, August 31st, at 11 a.m. at Forest Hills Cemetery located at 10200 Highway 5 North, Alexander, Ark., 72002.
