Mrs. Lianne Belle Forward, age 83, passed away August 27, 2019, in Camden, Ark. She was born October 21, 1936, in Winnipeg, Canada, the daughter of the late Matthew Smith and Belle Creighton. Lianne was preceded in death by her brother Kerry Matthew Smith, brother-in-law, James Forward, sister-in-law, Shirley Forward, nephew, Christopher Forward, and aunt Ruth Creighton. She is survived by the love of her life, Robert Bower Forward. She had three children and considered their spouses and partners as members of the family — Coleen Forward and Jeffrey Drummond, Robin and David Wise, and Melanie Forward-McCall. She had five grandchildren — Amelie Wise, Oliver Wise, Sierra Teutsch, Nicholas Teutsch, and Hattie McCall. She is also survived by her nephews, Guy Forward and Kerry Smith, step-niece, Estelle Griffiths, and step-nephews, Wagner Griffiths and Ryan MacDonald, all of Canada. She also leaves many friends who will sadly miss her. She had a strong Christian faith and was a long-time member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Camden. She attended Victoria University, a college of the University of Toronto. A lifelong learner, she was passionate about education and taught in the public school system until dedicating herself to raising her three daughters. A funeral service will be held at St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Camden, Ark., on Saturday, September 7, at 11 a.m. A fellowship reception will follow. A Columbarium commitment will follow at 5:00 p.m. at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church in Little Rock, Ark., where her ashes will be laid to rest in the central garden. The family asks that memorials be sent to one of the following: the UAMS Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging, Greenpeace, or the United Methodist Women.
