Colleen Carter Jones Bayless

Colleen Carter Jones Bayless, of Bald Knob, was born March 16, 1931 and lived a full and happy life until Friday, November 29, 2019 when the angels called her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alf and Laura Grayson Carter; five brothers; three sisters; husbands, Billy M. Jones and John Bayless; daughter, Phyllis Hobbs and step-son, Steve Bayless. Those whos lives she touched are now left with memories; her brother, Craig Carter; children, Marshall Jones, Billie Duke, Lana McDonald and Mary Alice Smith; step-children, Pam Tims, Judy Mason and Johnny Joe Bayless; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren. Always leading a daily productive life, Colleen was a real southern cook, a seamstress, a quilt maker, a farmer's wife, a grocery store and bait shop owner and a post master. During her last years, declining health took a toll. Although she was sedentary, she kept her hands busy shelling peas and pecans, playing dominoes daily and working word puzzles as these little tasks filled her with joy. Funeral: Monday, December 2, 2019 at 2 p.m., Powell Funeral Home Chapel.
